A Reiki Session:
Your first consultation with Diana can be as expansive or detailed as you like; be it personal, health, business or relationships. Diana's goal is to assist in defining your life purpose and develop a plan to integrate desired changes.
During a Reiki session, the recipient lies fully dressed, on a massage table while the practitioner gently channels the healing energy through her/his hands. The recipient will feel a wonderful warmth and gentle energy that is very relaxing and nurturing. The energy will flow through the practitioner, but not from the practitioner to you. You will receive the amount of energy you need to bring your mind and body into balance. The Reiki energy will stay with the recipient to promote healing for 3 to 7 days.
The effects of Reiki vary from individual to individual, most of my clients experience deep relaxation. They also perceive a tingling or pulsing sensation, a feeling of warmth and comfort. Results are sometimes subtle. Some of the clients say they feel little during the session, but afterwards enjoy a sense of calm and well-being, and a deep restful sleep. It is possible you'll experience powerful sensations or emotions during or after a session.
It is recommended to do three consecutive sessions the first week to be exposed to maximun amount of energy. Call 480 212.6747 to schedule a session or Click here to pay Online

What is Reiki
Dr. Usui started a Reiki organization in Japan soon after rediscovering Reiki. He was the first president. After he died, he was followed by a succession of presidents: Mr. Ushida, Mr. Iichi Taketome, Mr. Yoshiharu Watanabe, Mr. Toyoichi Wanami, Ms. Kimiko Koyama and the current successor to Dr. Usui as of 1998 is Mr. Kondo. Contrary to what has been said by some in the west, there is no "lineage bearer" or "Grandmaster" in the system of healing started by Dr. Usui, only the succession of presidents listed above. While Dr. Hayashi was a respected Reiki master, he was never in charge of the Usui system of Reiki.
Reiki is a generic word in Japan, and is used to describe many types of healing and spiritual work. It is not exclusive to the system of healing based on Dr. Usui's method. The system of healing that evolved from Dr. Usui's method is called the Usui System of Natural Healing or Usui Reiki Ryoho.
Reiki practitioners channel energy in a particular pattern to heal and harmonize. Unlike other healing therapies based on the premise of a human energy field, Reiki seeks to restore order to the body whose vital energy has become unbalanced.Reiki energy has several basic effects: it brings about deep relaxation, destroys energy blockages, detoxifies the system, provides new vitality in the form of healing universal life energy, and increases the vibrational frequency of the body. The laying of hands is used in Reiki therapy also as in spiritual healing. There is a difference though. In spiritual healing, a person with a strong energy field places his or her hands above a particular part of the recipient's body in order to release energy into it. So, here the healer is the one who is sending out the energy. In Reiki, however, the healer places the hands on the recipient; however, it is the recipient that draws the energy as needed. Thus, in this case, the individual being healed takes an active part in the healing process as opposed to having a passive part in spiritual healing. The individual takes responsibility for his or her healing. The recipient identifies the needs and cater to them by drawing energy as needed.
There has been a lot of speculation about where Reiki came from, but there has been little confirmation of most of these theories. Some say that Reiki originated from Buddhism or that it contains Buddhist concepts or techniques. While Dr. Usui may have been a Buddhist, he had also studied Christianity and had lived with a Christian family for a time. It is clear he had a very broad background in many religious teachings and philosophies
The clearest and most authentic understanding we have been able to discover is that Dr. Usui originated the system of healing he taught and practiced based on his mystical experience on Mt. Kurama and by making use of his studies in many different areas of knowledge. It has no connection to Buddhism or any other religion. This is validated by his own writing in which he says, "Our Reiki Ryoho is something absolutely original and cannot be compared with any other (spiritual) path in the world."
Reiki in the West:
After coming to the west, the Usui System of Natural Healing has evolved over time. In its current state, it is much more organized and structured than the simple, flexible, intuitive method practiced by Dr. Usui. The following is a description of the evolution of the Usui System of Reiki. During his mystical experience on Mt. Kurama, Dr. Usui received the ability to do Reiki treatments. Later he added the Reiki Ideals. Dr. Hayashi added the standard hand positions, the three degrees and their attunement processes. Mrs. Takata added the fee structure previously mentioned. The required waiting periods between classes were added by several of Mrs. Takata's Masters after she passed on. Actually according to Mrs. Yamaguchi who became a Reiki teacher under Dr. Hayashi, Dr. Hayashi taught that Reiki treatments should be given for free. This is why he taught mostly to wealthy students who could afford to practice without charging money. So, while some say payment must be received, we know that this is not a requirement and that it is really up to the practitioner to decide if they want to charge a fee or not for Reiki treatments.
After Mrs. Takata's transition, a few teachers began making changes in the way they taught Reiki. Most of the changes were beneficial, and included the addition of knowledge and healing skills the teachers had learned from other systems or had acquired from inner guidance. However, some changes were restrictive, making it more difficult for students to progress. Often, the fact that they had modified the Usui system was not mentioned and when their students became teachers, they began teaching what they thought was pure Usui Reiki when in fact it was not. In this way, many varieties of Reiki have developed with some thinking they have the only authentic version of Reiki when actually what they are teaching is a modified form.

Reiki and Buddhism:
Tibet is very suitable for meditation practitioners concerned with their spiritual development, because of it's religious and rich cultural heritages. Taking into account her breath-taking scenic beauty, owing to an array of dazzling snow peaks, Nepal has always been a source of great attraction.
To be sincerely speaking, Reiki is also part of a spiritual practice. Lord Buddha used to cure sick persons, as we come to know on the written account in the 'Lotus Sutra', through his hands. It is recorded in the holy books that Ram-Krishna and Jesus-Christ have healed by a simple touch. All reportedly spent some of their lifetime in this mountaineous region of the Himalayas.
It should be mentioned that Reiki's mysterious formula was excerpted from this 'Lotus Sutra' and other texts on the Healing Buddha and for a long time preserved secretly in Tibet. Later on, Dr. Mikao Usui a Japanese Buddhist monk rediscovered and developed it for the noble cause of all human beings. In this way, Reiki, eventually comes back to it's original place.

The Value of Reiki:
The theoretical concept of Reiki healing originated with Shakyamuni Buddha, as the essence of his Lotus Sutra teachings. As they were aimed at eliminating sufferings in all of its aspects, particularly the Mahayana principles urge us to benefit others in whatever activities we perform. Thus, from earliest times, the practioners of Dharma served their fellow countrymen by practicing the healing arts.
If it has a choice, no sentient being desires to suffer and experience pain. All beings desire to experience enjoyments of life and happiness. The principal theory of Mahayana Buddhism teaches us that by helping others we can help ourselves, and at least gain the total victory of full and complete enlightenment.
Human values are in everywhere. What we need are persons who will offer services to serve humanity by eliminating the sufferings caused by illness. And instructing beings on both mundane and spiritual level of how to maintain bodily health and spiritual well-being simultaneously.

A Japanese Dictionary refers to "Kanji" Rei as a spiritual entity believed to exist within or without our physical body. The Soul. That which possesses an infinite power. An invisible and wonderous power or the source of it.
Reverence. Sacredness. Blessing.Ki means something unseen. Atmosphere. The energy of the universe.
